It’s Saturday and I’m stuck at work, so I figured I’d share my average day in the wonderful world of tech-support with you.
Most IT departments are full of people just like me. If we have access to games, they will be played.
In the beginning of the day, the worker sits at its desk and types mindlessly into the glowing box.
About an hour in, the gamer will start to hallucinate. In IT, we are often visited by the almighty paperclip. It is an image that has been burned into our brains by Microsoft office and will plague us ’til the day we die.
The gamer’s brain disconnects from the awful cubicle and is plunged into the wonderful world of the almighty paperclip. Many glorious hours are spent on free gaming websites. It might not be an Xbox, and we might not have the admin codes needed to download Arcanum or Half Life, but we take what we can get!
All is right with the world. You have gotten 15 badges for Amorphous and you’ve flown the penguin 6,000 feet in Learn to Fly. And then reality comes crashing down upon your fragile soul like rampaging rhinos through a field of tulips…
Oddly specific? Well… yeah, okay, so maybe this is more a day in the life of a moose in a kilt who doesn’t know when to stop playing Gemcraft…
More importantly – 3 DAYS UNTIL I’M TOO BUSY CROCHETING TO WRITE THESE The competition is almost upon us! HUZZAH FOR TEAM 1-UP!
