So, I stuck the classic Ravelry love etc. buttons at the bottom of blog posts. Which is pretty sweet. We can change them to read whatever we like. What would be appropriate for the nerdy tribes we are? Or should we keep them as-is as reverent homage to our Ravelry roots?
I realized, too, that my dorky knowledge is not nearly as far-reaching as it should be. I don’t know nearly enough about a lot of our teams. Let’s take a look, alphabetically:
1-Up. I have a PS2 and a DS lite and I love them. I also am a nerd for Civ and Plants vs Zombies. I also watch Zero Punctuation every week.
Bazinga. I’ve seen three episodes of this show. It was weird at first because I had seen a lot of these characters before. Hey look, it’s the fast food night! It’s David from Rosanne! It’s Moist! It’s … Blossom? Weird. The show is silly and pretty good, even though I have a hard time sitting through sitcoms.
Bite Me. I cannot wait for True Blood to come back on! And, Husbeast gave me a copy of the same edition of annotated Dracula that I had taken out from the library a million times as a kid. Not into Twilight. In fact, this blog is all I know about it. Well, that blog and Hot Topic.
Browncoats. I used to host a weekly Firefly night at my house. I am pretty confident in my nerdiness in this area.
Dumbledore’s Army. I play HPKCHC, read all the books, love the movies, and now am the proud owner of a pink pygmy puff. Heeheehee
Enterprise. My dad and I used to watch TNG together when I was growing up. It is still my favorite iteration of Star Trek. And, I love the movie Nemesis. So good! I love this, too. I could use a brush up, though.
Epics. I’ve played Kingdom of Loathing. That’s sort of it.
Lunatic Fringe. I watched the pilot episode when it first aired. I think I had expected something … different. More like X-Files, more like Lost. I need to give it another try.
Precious. I’ve seen the movies, but have not read the books. I really enjoyed the movies.
Rangers. Husbeast’s a huge fan. I have not seen a single episode.
Rogue Squadron. Love episodes 3 through 5. Not well enough to do very well at Star Wars Trivial Pursuit, but I do ok.
Tardis. I saw an episode with Tom Baker maybe? when I was a kid. Scared the buhjeezus out of me and haven’t gone back.
UU. I have heard of Terry Pratchett but have not read any of the books.
Vipers. Grab your gun and bring in the cat.
So, it seems to me that I have a lot of catching up to do. Fortunately, a bunch of these are on instant Netflix or Hulu, and the library is filled with books. When will I have time for this catching up? Not sure! I’ll figure it out! I will start tonight with trying out some Babylon 5 on instant Netflix while I knit.
Only 4 more days!
