***NEW, IMPROVED, AND WITH CORRECT INFORMATION THIS TIME! Thanks to all who so politely put me on track. My excuse for forgetting that The Big Bang Theory, Supernatural, and Dr. Who are still New On The Air is, as always, brain fry from too much Skyrim. And also ’cause Supernatural‘s been away for so long. ***
Every so often I wish I could hire Chris Hastings to come up with witty titles for my blog posts. Today is one of those days. Why doesn’t Nerd Wars have a consulting budget? What can I say? Too much Skyrim, that’s my problem!
I lied just there. Too much Skyrim is never a problem. And the good news is, with the release of points and stats, November is officially over and December has officially begun! Hooray! You may all start knitting now.
November was huge. At least as large as Babylon 5 which, according to the Season 2 intro, is five miles long, so that’s a pretty big month. It was also a challenging one for many Nerd Warriors to balance knitting in the name of nerdery with the enjoyment of said nerdery. Two major video game releases! The Muppets! And, for Teams Squints and Bazinga, November sweeps. And it seemed to be a busy month for many in terms of real life stressors. But you did it, you made it, and your reward, adventurer, are the following stats!
Thanks as usual to our beloved GM and her mighty mod army for crunching the numbers, and adding some new and exciting ones to boot!
First up, the top teams for points in each challenge. You know that all silly but somewhat true saw about how people look like their pets? Well, something similar’s happened with the nerddom of Team Squints – they have come out on top of either the Scientific or Technical challenge in every single round of Tournament 3. Could someone please make them a badge for Art Most Imitative Of Real Life? Congratulations, Team Squints! Here are the rest of ‘em:
|Nerd Culture||One More Page|
|Technical||One More Page|
Total number of projects in round 2: 1884
Total number of players: 631
Total number of active (turned in at least one challenge and/or dissertation check-in players: 475
Percentage of total: 75%
|Number projects||Number of competitors|
…In other words, over a quarter of all active players in Round 2 melted the cube. You have my permission to leave, ponder that, and then return for the remaining stats.
Top Earners for Participation Bonus: Browncoats (90 pts), One More Page, and Squints (tied at 87 pts) lead the pack, with a whole bunch of Fraggles and their 86 points peeping over the squint’s shoulders singing “muhnuh, muhnuh!”
And finally, the piece de resistance of Round 2: Elise made this nifty table showing how the team standings shifted between rounds (or not shifted, if you’re a member of Team Tardis)! I honestly feel like we should be sending flowers right about now.
