Awagers is one of our stalwart members and also has ‘a past’ with Doctor Who:
“My best friend in high school started me on Doctor Who. She was one of those super cool people who could do anything – she made me a Doctor scarf, she grew her own rhubarb and baked with it, and she made my senior prom dress. We watched one or two 4th Doctor episodes, a chunk of 5th Doctor, a little bit of 7th Doctor, and the tv movie with the 8th Doctor – all on VHS tapes that she’d recorded from PBS.”
She sounds like one cool friend and a total fan.
After “many moons passed” awagers rediscovered Doctor Who through her sister (and we all know her too): “shedubba saw Runaway Bride right before she came home from college for vacation. She forced the whole family to watch, and we were hooked.”
Well, we all know that feeling! After all, as awagers says, “It’s a smart show, and it’s not ashamed of that. There’s witty dialogue and historical content and actual emotional issues.”
It’s also a great excuse for awagers to craft. “I am part of a family of nerds. The easiest way to make someone in my family happy is to give them a nerdy gift. Thus, knitting plus Doctor Who equals awesome bribes.”

It’s awagers first true lace-weight project and she made it in a month. “Heck yes.” she says, I am amazed. It has nupps too!
